Agoraphobia is the learned conditioned avoidance that patients with Panic Attacks will invariably develop in a futile attempt to avoid a full blown panic attack. The outcome of this avoidance is that it escalates and will result in the total isolation of the panic attack or agoraphobic sufferer. He or she will thus have become a prisoner of a biochemistry gone awry. Their territory becomes very limited, sometimes they become incarcerated in their own homes.
